Nursing

Nurses also serve as advocates for patients, families, and communities. In addition to developing and managing nursing care plans, they instruct patients and their families in proper care while also helping people take steps to improve or maintain health.

Pre-nursing students at the University of Mississippi pursue multiple pathways to nursing school as well as apply to a wide array of programs. Prerequisites are not standardized for all nursing schools. Although A&P I and II as well as Microbiology are pretty standard requirements, additional course prerequisites can vary. Here is a list of course prerequisites for the University of Mississippi School of Nursing.

We recommend pre-nursing students visit HPAO at least once a semester to gain feedback toward becoming a competitive applicant. Make an appointment.
