Cassie Teeter

Pre-Dental Student from Olive Branch, MS

Why did you decide to pursue this health profession? I am pursuing dentistry for many reasons. The first is that I was always terrified of the dentist until I met one who made me feel comfortable and safe. I would love the opportunity to have that impact on somebody else.

Major: Allied Health Studies

Why did you choose this major? Allied Health Studies has been a great way to get my prerequisites done for dental school and minor in one of my other interests, psychology.

How has HPAO helped you on your pre-health journey? I was totally lost as a pre-dental student with no prior connections to the field when I started at Ole Miss. HPAO has been essential in career planning and support throughout college!

What is your most memorable HPAO experience? My favorite times as an ambassador have been meeting prospective students and their parents. Once, I met a dad who gave me advice on interview apparel! Working with my fellow ambassadors at these events has been a very cool experience.

What are your career goals? After undergrad, I want to attend dental school, become a practicing general dentist, and possibly open my own practice one day. I look forward to meeting patients and then getting to know them better with each visit. I also want to use my position to give back to communities who don’t have the same healthcare opportunities that I’ve had.

What are you the happiest doing? To name a few, I like to hang out with my friends, watch movies, and go shopping.

What is your favorite study spot? My favorite study spot will always be the library on campus. It seems like I find a new spot every time I go!

What is your favorite meal in Oxford? I love the chicken quesadillas at Proud Larry’s!
